Radish Fiction, a popular mobile reading platform known for its serialized fiction and writer-focused monetization, announced today that it will officially wind down operations by the end of the year.
In an email sent to users on July 3, Radish shared the news via a graphic marked with the all-caps headline “IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.” The message reads:
“After nearly a decade, we have made the difficult decision to wind down the Radish app.
The end-of-service date is December 31, 2025. After that date, all remaining coins, coupons, gift passes or unlocked chapters will become inaccessible.
For those who publish on Radish, all public facing stories or chapters can be viewed, and purchased, through the end of our service date. We will continue to pay royalties at our normal rate. Further information can be found in the Writers’ Web portal.
Thank you for helping us build a wonderful community of writers and readers.
If you have any questions, please email support@radishfiction.com.”

Founded in 2015, Radish launched its mobile app the following year with the goal of creating new monetization models for fiction writers. By 2017, the company boasted around 700 authors across romance, fantasy, and young adult genres. At the time, the platform’s top-performing writer was reportedly earning $13,000 per month.
Notably, celebrated novelist Amy Tan praised Radish’s model, remarking, “The writers get paid immediately—and they still retain copyright and can later publish in another format.”
In 2021, Radish Media, Inc. was acquired by South Korea’s Kakao Entertainment for $440 million. That same year, Kakao also acquired Tapas Media, home to hit webcomics such as A Business Proposal and The Beginning After the End.
Users with questions about the app’s closure are encouraged to reach out to Radish support at support@radishfiction.com.
