Next spring, the sequel to King’s Maker will make its print debut from publisher Inklore. Today, K-Comics Beat can exclusively reveal the splendorous cover of King’s Maker: Triple Crown, Vol. 1.
Written by Haga and illustrated by Kang Jiyoung, King’s Maker: Triple Crown is a mature-rated sequel series to the beloved Boys’ Love manhwa webcomic, King’s Maker, that debuted on TappyToon in 2020 and concluded last summer with the Season 3 finale. Inklore will publish the third and final print volume of the first King’s Maker series this September, then pick things up with Triple Crown in 2027.
Here’s the synopsis for the sequel series:
The king is dead. Long live Wolfgang Goldenleonard. King’s Maker returns and turns up the heat in this mature-rated sequel series to the beloved BL manhwa.
Since deposing his despotic father and treacherous brothers, Wolfgang has brought a new age to the Kingdom of Goldenleonard with the help of Soohyuk Shin. Tyranny and suffering are things of the past, but there is still much work to be done. Paperwork, formal dress fittings, and council meetings clutter Wolfgang’s days when all he wants is to spend time with Soohyuk. Their childhood friendship has blossomed into something more intense, with frenzied heat and uncertain glances, yet as they grow closer they somehow seem to understand each other less. Beyond the palace walls, there is unrest in the kingdom, despite its benevolent new king. Old wounds have been left to fester, and an ancient promise is about to come due.
King’s Maker: Triple Crown, Vol. 1 will contain episodes 1-14 of the webcomic, with additional print volumes to come. The cover for Vol. 1 was designed by Inklore’s Shivana Sookdeo, whose work always shines—often, as in this case, quite literally. This cover bears the same aesthetic markers as its predecessor, which will make them look cohesive on a shelf, but still has its own identity.
