Mad Cave Studios imprint Nakama Press has announced manga-inspired, post-apocalyptic graphic novel World Enders, and K-Comics Beat has all the details.
Written by James Patrick and illustrated by Nicole Izzo, with lettering by Sal Cipriano, World Enders follows in the wake of eight apocalyptic events and the humans who have somehow survived them.
Here’s the synopsis:
The end of the world isn’t coming. It’s already here. Eight apocalypses have ravaged Earth, and humanity has limped through each one…barely. Now, the monsters of Apoc 8 are closing in, and the only ones left to finish the job are a ragtag crew known as the World Enders: Bethany, Pullman, Toth, and the unhinged S.A.M.—mercenaries who kill for hire in a world already on life support. Their newest mission: trigger a doomsday bomb and finish the job once and for all. But as monsters close in and hope refuses to die, this crew of killers must decide if ending the world is mercy… or madness.

“Sure, this book is a blast. It’s about having a good time blowing up a world that’s earned the right to be destroyed,” says Patrick. “But it’s also about how we all have to confront the end at some point. And about the realities that set in when you decide to go through with irreversible decisions.”
Izzo said, “I loved drawing this story and all of its characters. My favorite character is definitely S.A.M., but you’ll only understand why if you read to the end. I hope readers enjoy my storytelling style and the dynamism and expressiveness I’ve tried to give the characters.”
World Enders will be available everywhere books are sold on July 21. Pre-orders are available now.
