This summer is heating up with steamy Manta reads you can now enjoy—for free!
One of the top webcomic platforms, Manta Comics is making it a little easier on webcomic lovers’ wallets by reintroducing the Free Pass. Readers can unlock a new episode every 24 hours for any of the 400 titles in the platform’s library. Each unlocked episode stays available for 72 hours, and readers can use one Free Pass per episode during that time. This feature launches on July 1.
Among the 400 titles will be popular and fan-favorite stories such as Tempest Night, It Was Just a Contractual Marriage, High Society, and the ultra-popular series Under the Oak Tree.
Manta has had Free Pass events in the past where readers can unlock episodes for certain titles for a period of time, but this new feature will allow readers to get a taste of and explore new titles that would’ve been blocked by payment.
The platform has a number of different payment options to access their expansive library. They first started with a monthly subscription plan which is now priced at $4.99. The subscription plan included titles like Under the Oak Tree, Semantic Error, I’ve Become a True Villainess, and Werewolves Going Crazy Over Me. Back in September 2024, their in-app currency system was updated to include webcomic titles along with webnovel. GEM titles include full, uncensored versions of titles that already exist in the Manta library and other titles that exist on other platforms. A few months ago, in February, the platform created a new subscription plan for GEM titles called the Premium Plan. Priced at $9.99, this plan will give readers access to 300 titles from their library and includes 125 monthly GEMs that fans can use on their GEM-specific works.
With WEBTOON’s removal of the Daily Pass, Manta offers a free alternative for fans to read their favorite webcomic titles. Fans can take the time now to scope out which titles they want to use their Free Pass for before its official launch on July 1.
