At the “Inside WEBTOON Entertainment: What’s Coming Next” panel at New York Comic Con 2026 on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, several exciting WEBTOON Original returns were revealed!
DC Partner Series
During the panel, there were several exciting announcements made concerning WEBTOON/DC Partner Series. These include Gotham By Daylight, a original horror anthology. According to the press release:
“From WEBTOON and DC, Gotham By Daylight, a new original horror anthology set in Gotham City, will launch on WEBTOON on October 19. Written by Mike Birchall, creator of the hit WEBTOON title Everything is Fine, the series takes readers into a Gotham City unlike anything they’ve seen before – one where the city is trapped in constant daylight and ordinary citizens are left to confront a mysterious supernatural threat known as The Daylight.”
Gotham By Daylight writer Birchall was quoted in the PR as saying:
“Getting to highlight the ordinary people of Gotham has been so fun and fulfilling as well. It’s so easy to say ‘why would anyone live in Gotham?’ but when you break it down that’s actually such an interesting question, and there are of course many good reasons. What’s more interesting to me, though, is ‘how do people live in Gotham?’. How do they get by? How do they support each other? How do they react to crazy, cosmic-level threats? Putting these characters through their own horror stories is, to me at least, the perfect way to explore these questions.”
In addition to Gotham By Daylight, DC fans will also be thrilled to hear that Batman: Wayne Family Adventures will be returning for a fifth season:
“Batman: Wayne Family Adventures will return for season 5: This fan-favorite and Eisner-nominated series written by CRC Payne is a slice of life take on Batman. Catch up before it returns for its fifth season!”
WEBTOON Originals
New details about returning several new WEBTOON Originals were also revealed.
An adaptation of Belle Morte, an adaptation of the Wattpad novel by Belle Higgins, is coming to WEBTOON:
“Experience the Wattpad novel as a webcomic! Belle Morte is a fresh take on a vampire story — vampires are major celebrities, and in this universe, humans are their paid blood donors. The WEBTOON adaptation will let fans experience this romance story in a brand new way, building on previous Wattpad adaptations like Night Owls and Summer Skies and Situationship.“
On October 31st, 2026, My Dear Watson will launch. As the PR says:
“You may know My Dear Watson as the “Most Gripping” genre winner from the 2025 WEBTOON “Webcomic Legends” contest. Now, it’s finally launching as a WEBTOON Original! Amid rising rates of violent crime, series protagonist Cat Chen gains a mysterious power to rewind time every time they die. You don’t want to miss this Originals debut from creator heiMO on October 31.”
Returning WEBTOON Originals
And there will be some returning WEBTOON Originals as well. First up is The Egg Project, which will be returning for a sophomore season. From the PR:
“The Egg Project, created by amyahue!, is officially coming back for season two! This breakout romance hit follows Cherry and Riku, two classmates who have always hated each other. Unfortunately, they’re forced together to co-parent an egg for their senior project — and sparks fly. Catch up on this series, which has over 18.7 million views, before season two.”
Next is Omniscient Reader, which will return in the fall. According to the press release:
“This highly anticipated action hit will be making its return to WEBTOON this fall. Since its 2020 debut, the Omniscient Reader webcomic has captivated audiences worldwide with over 3 billion global views. The series follows Dokja, an office worker who realizes that his favorite apocalyptic web novel has become reality. Readers can currently catch up on over 300 episodes of Omniscient Reader on WEBTOON before the return.”
A quote in the PR from Redice Studio said:
“Hello to everyone at New York Comic Con! We’re so excited that Omniscient Reader will be returning soon. It’s been incredible to watch the series find its fans around the world through WEBTOON, and we’re grateful for everyone who has shown their passion for the webcomic over the past six years. We can’t wait for you to see more of Dokja’s story when the series returns this fall. See you soon on WEBTOON!”
Meanwhile, Cuffing Cupid will be returning for a sophomore season. The PR says:
“Cuffing Cupid, created by Lost in Translation creator Jjolee, will officially come back for a second season! This innovative romance hit follows Yejun, a private investigator who specializes in catching cheating partners. Love is the last thing on his mind — before he’s assigned a cupid tasked with finding Yejun a soulmate. Catch up on this series, which has over 11.4 million views, before it returns for season two.”
…and a scrolling adaptation
And finally, the PR had this to say about the scrolling adaptation of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers:
“WEBTOON and BOOM! Studios bring Kyle Higgins’ fan-favorite run, which focuses on newly freed Green Ranger Tommy Oliver, to WEBTOON reformatted for vertical scroll. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (2016) joins other BOOM! Studios series on WEBTOON, including Something Is Killing the Children, Fence, and more.”
