TOKYOPOP licenses Spanish edition of HEAVEN OFFICIAL’S BLESSING manhua

On March 26, TOKYOPOP announced its official Spanish license for Heaven Official’s Blessing, marking another step in the publisher’s gradual entry into the danmei market. The company had previously licensed The Wizard, a Taiwanese single-volume danmei work, which debuts in May.

“The growth of Chinese manhua continues globally and also coincides with an expanding market in North America and beyond for content published in non-English languages such as Spanish,” Lena Atanassova, the Editor-in-Chief, said. “Heaven Official’s Blessing is a unique and noteworthy addition to our Spanish catalog and we are excited to continue the continued evolution and localization of this stand-out series.”

Based on the original novel series by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu—also the author of the New York Times bestsellers Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System—the story follows Xie Lian, a once-revered crown prince turned disgraced god. His relentless determination to save the common people led to his downfall, and now, 800 years later, he roams the land as a wandering scrap collector, ridiculed by the heavens. When he investigates a mysterious case, he crosses paths with San Lang, a red-clad young man who takes a peculiar interest in him—one that is far from coincidental. Readers can already access the English digital edition of Heaven Official’s Blessing on Lezhin Comics. Meanwhile, Aloha Comics has licensed a manhua adaptation of the donghua (animated series), which incorporates panels from the show. As of now, no official English print edition of the manhua exists. Fans can stream the first two seasons of the donghua on Crunchyroll.

The Spanish edition of Heaven Official’s Blessing Vol. 1 is set for a fall 2025 release.
