We finally have a release date for the romantasy novel Villains Are Destined to Die!
Ize Press first announced its license for Villains Are Destined to Die at New York Comic Con in October 2024, alongside a slate of other Korean webnovels. Now, the publisher has confirmed that Gwon Gyeoeul’s novel will debut in August 2025 (specific date to be announced). As one of the most popular villainess reincarnation titles, this is a must-read for fans of the genre.
Villains Are Destined to Die follows a college student who picks up the reverse harem video game Daughter of the Duke’s Super Love Project. She immediately relates not to the adored heroine, Ivonne, but to the misunderstood villainess, Penelope. One night, she falls asleep and wakes up in Penelope’s body. To escape the game world, she must charm one of the love interests and secure his good ending. However, the game’s rigid mechanics leave no room for error—one wrong choice could mean Penelope’s death.
Ize Press has also licensed the print release of the webcomic, illustrated by SUOL. The webcomic is available digitally on Tapas, Tappytoon, and Manta, amassing over 13 million views. Meanwhile, the webnovel’s digital version has ganered a whopping 1.7 million views on Tapas, solidifying its popularity. The seventh volume of the webcomic print edition was released on February 18.
The print edition of the novel will span five paperback volumes and will be available in print, eBook, and audiobook formats starting August 2025.
