What would you do to save a loved one? What can you offer? What are you willing to sacrifice?
Manta‘s latest romantasy series, The Hidden Muse, follows Riv Roydes, a young woman burdened with a mountain of debt and medical bills for her sick sister. Although she works as a governess, it isn’t enough to cover the expenses, so Riv takes on a side hustle—one that isn’t conventional and isn’t looked upon kindly: posing as a nude model. Her only condition is that none of the paintings reveal her face. But when one of her portraits is bought, it exposes her identity, jeopardizing her job and reputation. Worse still, the buyer is the enigmatic and powerful art collector, Dimus Ditrion.
Originally written as a webnovel by Minato, The Hidden Muse was adapted into a mature webcomic by Manta Studios, which also adapted Betrayal of Dignity and I’ve Become a True Villainess. With tags like “love-hate,” “dangerous,” and “bad boy,” it looks like Riv will “have it rough.”
Manta Comics, launched in November 2020, has quickly become a leading platform for romantasy. The platform started as subscription-based, allowing readers to access its library for a flat fee, but recently transitioned to a dual format, offering both subscriptions and pay-per-episode options. Manta has also expanded its library to include more than 300 new titles, including popular series like Solo Leveling and Villains Are Destined to Die. Additionally, the platform now offers “full versions,” featuring both mature and PG-rated versions of select titles.
The Hidden Muse is now available on Manta, with 20 episodes released so far. Subsequent episodes drop every Friday, and both subscribers and readers using Gems can access the series.
