Legendary studio JC Staff and director Manabu Ono will be the creative force behind this adaptation.
The Remarried Empress originally started as a web novel by Alphatart from 2018 to 2020. The series focuses on an empress who receives a divorce decree from her husband. She agrees but on the condition she’s allowed to remarry another a prince from a rival kingdom. A manwha adaptation by SUMPUL and HereLee began serialization on Webtoon in 2019. To date, it’s been collected into nine volumes. The series will be produced by Troyka, the studio behind this year’s Iron Wok Jan, and directed by Tetsuya Yanigasawa, best known for Berserk of Gluttony.
No official premiere date was set for each series, other than The Boxer “coming soon,” with both The Remarried Empress and Teenaged Mercenary scheduled to arrive sometime next year.
