In an announcement made by manga and anime producer VIZ Media, supernatural romance comedy Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite will be receiving a television anime adaptation. Following the announcement, VIZ Media has revealed the anime’s first teaser trailer alongside key art.
Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite anime
Created by Kamisama Kiss author Julietta Suzuki, Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite follows vampire Hina as she moves to Japan from Romania to enjoy her otaku activities after spending 30 years as a shut-in. Obsessed with the character Mao from her favorite series Vampire Cross, she meets her new neighbor Kyuta Amantsu, a boy who looks just like her favorite anime character!
To make matters more complicated, Kyuta’s blood is irresistible to vampires everywhere. As other vampires show up and take an interest in Kyuta, his relationship with Hina takes an unexpected turn.
Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite was originally serialized in the Japanese shojo manga magazine Hana to Yume in November of 2022. The manga then made its English debut through VIZ Media in October of 2024 and currently has 10 published volumes as of July 2026. The teaser trailer showcases artwork from Suzuki’s original manga, highlighting the first glimpse of Hina’s obsession and the romance that follows with Kyuta.
Julietta’s manga Karakuri Odette was first serialized in 2006 in Hata to Yume. Additionally, she was awarded the Outstanding Debut Award at the 31st Hakusensha Athena Newcomers’ Awards. Her other popular novel, Kamisama Kiss, was also adapted into a TV anime. Julietta has also written series such as Triptaka Torinique, Nin Koi, and Meiantei Koko wa Yuutsu.
