Manga UP! apologizes for “damaging the reputation” of sooncha, author of YANG CAN’T LIVE ALONE

In response to sooncha‘s announcement earlier this week, Square Enix’s Manga UP! confirms Yang Can’t Live Alone will be leaving the platform entirely. The global X (formerly Twitter) account also posted a notice, but included slightly different wording than the Japanese account.

The Japanese serialization of the manga will end on August 13th with Chapter 15.3 while the English serialization will stop on August 19th. The exact date and time of the manga’s removal from the platform hasn’t been confirmed. In addition, there’s been no announcement for Yang Can’t Live Alone‘s English physical publication date. For now, the U.S. release plans remains unchanged.

Announcement of the end of the serialization of Yang Can’t Live Alone.

Thank you very much for always enjoying this work.

Regarding Yang Can’t Live Alone, we have decided to discontinue the series, with episode 15③, which is scheduled for release on August 13th (Thursday) and will be the final episode.

This decision was made because the editor in charge had been inadequate in handling the serialization and promotion of this work. Although efforts were made to restore trust, including changing the editor in charge, it was not enough. After discussions between Sooncha and the Manga UP! editorial department, we reached this conclusion.

We apologize to all our readers who were looking forward to the update. Also, we apologize for damaging the reputation of Sooncha-sensei.

We are very sorry for causing worry and inconvenience.

Please note that the end dates for chapter publication on MangaUP! and the end dates for comic book distribution will be announced in the “Notifications” section of the app as soon as they are decided.
