In a sudden announcement, sooncha announced their romantic comedy manga, Yang Can’t Give Alone, will be discontinued on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform after its next chapter release on August 13th. The manga author stated a “breakdown the fiduciary trust” as the reason for the withdrawal and cancellation of serialization from Manga UP!
Sooncha’s statement and translation is as follows:
Notice Regarding the Cancellation of the Serialization and Withdrawal of Copyright for “Yang Can’t Live Alone”
Due to a breakdown in our relationship of trust with Manga UP, we have decided to discontinue the serialization of “Yang Can’t Live Alone” with episode 15 part 3, which will be released on the 13th.
We sincerely apologize to our readers for having to make this announcement just before the release of volume 3. More details will be announced on Manga UP in the future.
In regards to volume 3, which will be released on August 6th, we have been informed that it is not possible to stop the sale of both the print and digital versions. If you are concerned, we would appreciate if you could take appropriate action, such as canceling your order.
We are currently in discussions with the editorial department to withdraw the copyright so that we can definitely deliver the continuation of “Yang Can’t Live Alone.” We would be grateful if you could wait until then.

Yang Can’t Give Alone was serialized and published chapter by chapter as a digital manga on the Manga UP! platform in 2024. Soon, its first volume print edition became available on May 7, 2025 in Japan. Afterwards, volume two went on sale six months later on November 7th, 2025. The series was originally released in English on Manga UP!’s global site last year in August 2025.
As of this article, the manga is still available on the Manga UP!’s Japanese and global website. Square Enix USA site also lists volume one’s release date as September 15, 2026 and volume two’s release date as December 8, 2026. It’s unknown if this decision impacts the global physical release and distribution of sooncha’s manga.
According to the author’s own statement, the release of volume three through Square Enix’s Manga UP! will go forward as planned since it’s “not possible to stop” its sale. For now, it’s unlikely the series will continue until the manga author finds a new home for it.
