Nominations are now open for Tapas’s second annual Inkies Awards, an annual celebration of the best premium and community comics and novels the platform has to offer.

The categories are Favorite Premium Comic, Favorite Premium Novel, Favorite Community Comic, Favorite Community Novel, New Community Comic of the Year 2025, and New Community Novel of the Year 2025.

Tapas users with active accounts can nominate their favorite titles in each category, provided the series have published at least ten story episodes in the year 2025 (and for the New Community Series category, the first episode must have been published in 2025 as well.) Creators can nominate their own series.

Winners are determined through a combination of engagement metrics for the year 2025, fan voting, and jury vote assessing storytelling quality, originality, and impact. Tapas content specialists will also decide which series will be nominated.

Ten series will be nominated for each category. Users have until July 2 to nominate their favorites! One nomination per user profile. The final ten titles in each category will be announced July 9, with voting open to the public from July 9 to July 23. The winner will be announced on July 31.

Previous Inkie winners include community comic The Boy & The Wolf, new community comic for 2024 The Interpretation of Shadows, and community novels The Mortician’s Assistant and I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?! Part 2. Previous premium winners include Solo Leveling and The Beginning After the End.

It is unclear what kind of reward winners receive or if there is a financial benefit to winning. The list of previous winners is only available by accessing an archived version of the awards information page from March 2025.

Tapas describes this award as “Tapas’s most prestigious celebration of storytelling”, but Tapas comics are eligible for nomination in awards with wider industry recognition and other rewards such as the Eisner and the Ignatz awards. Still, it appears that for creators, this event is an opportunity to receive some fleeting recognition for their hard work, and for fans, this is an opportunity to champion the series you believe are the best of the best. Nominate your favorite comics and novels today!
