The mysterious origins of Star Wars’ character Grand Admiral Thrawn is becoming reimagined in this manga adaptation. Produced by Random House Worlds and adapted by author Man Tsang, this manga is set to be published on September 29th, 2026. Hong Kong based artist and manga creator Man Tsang has contributed his artwork style across multiple comic and illustration projects including the popular webcomic Kill la Kill the Critic and Rokudenashi Blues 4.5.
The manga takes is an adaptation of the 2017 New York Times bestselling novel Thrawn by Timothy Zahn. Zahn’s novel is an origin story of the infamous Grand Admiral Thrawn which captures the fateful events that launched the military strategist into the upper echalon of power and infamy, perhaps even rivaling Darth Vader himself.
Telling the tale of Thrawn’s rise and exile from his people and demonstrating the strategic brilliance and political maneuvering that captured the attention of the Galactic Empire, the manga adaptation is sure to provide a compelling and thrilling reimagining of the source material that all Star Wars fans will come to enjoy.
