Ize Press has announced a New York City pop-up store featuring apparel and merchandise from Solo Leveling and Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. Open from August 14 to August 30, the pop-up will coincide with Anime NYC, which takes place August 20-23. The store will be referred to as “System Sync,” a nod to the world-governing systems that control the progression of each series.
The Solo Leveling Webtoon debuted in 2018 on Kakao and is based on the 2016 webnovel written by Chu-Gong. The story follows Sung Jinwoo, a low-ranked hunter who battles deadly monsters to protect humankind. When he’s the only member of his party to survive a powerful dungeon, he’s granted a rare ability by the Sytem to level up his strength, which he must then use to battle both monsters and men to discover the source of his powers.
The Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint webnovel written by singNsong debuted in 2018 and was adapted for an English Webtoon in 2020. The story follows office worker Kim Dokja, whose world suddenly becomes that of a webnovel only he has read… but he’s determined to rewrite the ending.
Customers of the Ize Press pop-up shop will get first dibs on the publisher’s original merchandise line, which includes exclusive, glow-in-the-dark Solo Leveling apparel and Omniscient Reader shirts made exclusively for the System Sync pop-up. The store will also feature Omniscient Reader merchandise straight from Korea and will give shoppers the opportunity to earn exclusive gifts with purchase through a tiered minimum-spend rewards system. Additionally, it will feature a limited-time stamp rally during Anime NYC, collectible gifts, and special rewards for cosplayers.
