There’s no stopping Huntrix and the Saja Boys.
Netflix recently revealed that KPop Demon Hunters has achieved what no other Netflix film has done before. Most films and series see a surge in viewership during their first few days or weeks, only to taper off as new releases emerge and interest fades. But this animated feature defied expectations—KPop Demon Hunters hit a new viewing peak five weeks after its release.

According to GamesRadar+, KPop Demon Hunters racked up 25.8 million views between July 14 and July 20. Its rising popularity is likely thanks to strong word of mouth and a viral social media presence. Fans have eagerly recommended the film to their friends, while K-Pop idols have shared singing and dance covers of its soundtrack. Even restaurants have joined in on the craze. To date, the film has amassed 106.1 million total views.
The film isn’t just dominating Netflix—it’s climbing the music charts too. Its songs are charting across Billboard and Spotify, with “Golden” debuting at No. 81 and “Your Idol” at No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100. Huntrix and the Saja Boys even dethroned BLACKPINK and BTS on the U.S. Spotify Charts, claiming the No. 1 spot on different occasions.
Director Maggie Kang created KPop Demon Hunters to spotlight Korean culture, including its mythology and music. The film took four years to develop, with Chris Appelhans joining Kang as co-director. The cast features the voice talents of Arden Cho, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, and Ahn Hyoseop, alongside singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami, and Andrew Choi.
The story follows a globally famous K-Pop trio who perform as Huntrix by day and fight demons by night. Audiences around the world have fallen in love with its animation, humor, music, and heartfelt story. Many fans are already clamoring for a prequel or sequel.
KPop Demon Hunters premiered on June 20 and is now streaming on Netflix.
