Fans in the U.S. and Canada won’t have to wait long to watch Omniscient Reader.

Capelight Pictures International released a new teaser trailer with English subtitles, giving non-Korean-speaking fans a glimpse into the film’s intense atmosphere. While the footage is the same as previously shown, the subtitles now reveal crucial story details. The teaser also confirms that the movie will premiere in Korea on July 23, followed by a U.S. and Canadian release on August 1.

Directed and co-written by Kim Byung-woo, with Lee Jung-min as co-writer, Omniscient Reader is produced by Won Dong-yeon through Realies Pictures. While the trailers showcase thrilling action scenes, longtime fans of the webnovel and webcomic remain cautiously excited—and a bit nervous—about the film’s live-action interpretation.

The cast includes:

  • Ahn Hyoseop (KPop Demon Hunters) as protagonist Kim Dokja, the loyal reader of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

  • Lee Minho as Yoo Joonghyuk, the main character of Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse, who is in his third regression when the story begins

  • Chae Soobin as Yoo Sangah, Dokja’s coworker

  • Shin Seungho as Lee Hyunsung, a soldier who joins Dokja

  • Kwon Eun Seong as Lee Gilyoung, a boy who can communicate with insects

  • Nana as Jung Huiwon, a justice-driven fighter who joins the team

  • BLACKPINK’s Jisoo as Lee Jihye, an ally of Yoo Joonghyuk

Originally written by singNsong, the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint webnovel was first released in English on Webnovel before Ize Press picked it up for a print edition. The story follows Kim Dokja, who obsessively reads a webnovel called Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse. Just as the novel ends and becomes paid content, the author secretly sends Dokja the full manuscript, warning him that it might “help.” Moments later, reality collapses into the story’s apocalyptic world—and Dokja, the only one who knows how it ends, must survive it.
