Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

The Men of the Harem webnovel is getting a drama adaptation, and Suzy has been offered the role of Empress Latrasil Valentine Tarium. Her agency confirmed they received the offer but said the actor is still considering it. Lee Eungbok, the director of Sweet Home seasons 2 and 3—another drama based on a webcomic—will direct the series, with Hwang Jinyoung (My Dearest) writing the screenplay.

Men of the Harem, written by The Remarried Empress author Alphatart, began serialization on Naver in March 2020 and concluded in June 2023. HereLee adapted the story into a webcomic, with Yeongbin providing the artwork. The webcomic launched on the English platform on February 5, 2021, and is currently ongoing with three seasons and 195 episodes at the time of this article’s publishing. Men of the Harem has garnered nearly 120 million views on the official platform, a number sure to rise as the story continues.

After her lover Hyacinth betrays her, choosing the throne over their relationship, Latil becomes furious and heartbroken. But she can’t wallow in sorrow for long; her position as the new empress is fragile at best, and she still needs to uncover who orchestrated her father’s assassination. So Latil hatches a brilliant plan: with pressure mounting to find a husband, she goes one better and selects five consorts to form her harem. This move not only secures her rule but also ensures Hyacinth feels the same agony he inflicted on her.

K-Pop fans know Suzy as a former member of Miss A, active from 2010 to 2015. She debuted as an actor in Dream High, which became a huge success and earned her the Best New Actress award at the KBS Drama Awards. Her film debut in Architecture 101 ranked among the ten most-watched Korean films in the first quarter of 2012. Suzy also starred in another webtoon-based drama, Doona!, which premiered on Netflix in October 2023.

The Men of the Harem webcomic is available to read digitally on WEBTOON.
