Inklore dropped a surprise licensing announcement on April 3, following some hints the day prior.
The manhwa imprint revealed that it had licensed the print edition of How to Hide the Emperor’s Child. The manhwa is adapted from a novel by Lee Yeonseon, with the webcomic version illustrated by SSAL and artist 26. Inklore has not yet announced a release window for the first volume.

The original novel debuted in 2020 with 169 main chapters and 19 side story chapters. The manhwa adaptation launched on Tapas on April 15, 2022, and concluded its main story with 113 episodes on March 10, 2025. The series has amassed over 8 million views and more than 700,000 likes on Tapas.
Tapas describes the story as below:
Astelle, the empire’s one-day empress brought with her a secret when she left the palace after the divorce: she was pregnant with Emperor Kaizen’s child. Six years later, Astelle is living a peaceful life in the countryside with their son until the imperial guards come knocking. Kaizen requires Astelle’s consent to receive the key territory of Meilen. With the empire still in turmoil from a rebellion, will Astelle be able to hide her son’s identity from these threatening forces, and more importantly, from his father, the emperor?
How to Hide the Emperor’s Child joins other Inklore manhwa licenses announced this year, including The Knight and Her Emperor, The Makeup Remover, and Sora & Haena. Inklore, launched by Penguin Random House on June 28, 2023, has already made waves with its print editions of Under the Oak Tree in both webnovel and webcomic formats.
The manhwa is available digitally on Tapas and Tappytoon. The original novel does not yet have an official English license.
