After an exciting release for the first episode of Steel Ball Run: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, fans and companies alike have been riding on Netflix’s back for episode two. The obscurity over the anime’s highly anticipated release schedule threw fans into a descending spiral. Becoming a meme in and of itself, fans bombarded every post by Netflix with horror edits of SBR‘s main character, Johnny Joestar. Hilariously, film company A24 also joined in on the fun.
Now, after two weeks of non-stop badgering and demands for answers, Netflix Anime announced a clearer release schedule for the seventh part of JJBA. In an X post, it stated the anime will be a “split-cour release” and that the “next cour (2nd STAGE) will begin streaming in fall 2026” as a weekly release. Netflix specified this was part of the “original plan” and reflects what the “wishes of the production committee.”
For those unfamiliar with SBR, episode one covers what is considered the 1st STAGE. This is why Netflix is announcing the next cour in its post. Fans are speculating there will be breaks between the cours as the story has a total of nine stages, which are one through eight before entering a final stage.
