The Beginning After the End returns for Season 2 on April 1, and studio A-CAT has released a new trailer teasing what’s to come for Arthur Leywin and Jasmine Flamesworth.

TBATE Season 2 introduces new characters Brald, Samantha, and Vio, and features a new opening theme song by Six Lounge: “Sayonara janai hou ga ii.” Here’s the Season 2 synopsis:

Arthur, now an adventurer, completes quest after quest alongside Jasmine, honing his swordsmanship and mana. One day, Brald, an AA-ranked adventurer, invites them to participate in a certain quest. Though Arthur and his companions wonder why they were chosen, Arthur decides to accept it as his final quest before entering the Academy. However, an unimaginable tragedy awaits them.

The Beginning After the End adapts the comic series created by TurtleMe and published by Tapas Entertainment. The story follows King Grey, reborn as Arthur Leywin, who retains the wisdom of his previous life as he grows up on the magical continent Dicathen.

The anime, which streams on Crunchyroll, is directed by Keitaro Motonaga at studio A-CAT, with series composition by Takamitsu Kono, character designs by Masami Sueoka, and music by Keiji Inai. The series stars Natsumi Fujiwara as Arthur Leywin; Makoto Furukawa as Grey; Chiaki Omigawa as Jasmine Flamesworth; Kana Ichinose as Tessia Eralith; Yamato Kinjo as Reynolds Leywin; Rena Maeda as Alice Leywin; Shinya Takahashi as Durden Walker; Taihi Kimura as Adam Krensh; Miyuu Ogura as Helen Shard; Riko Akechi as Angela Rose; and Shiori Izawa as Sylvia.

New cast joining The Beginning After the End Season 2 includes Royta Osaka as Brald; Yumiri Hanamori as Samantha; Moe Nagamuta as Vio; and Shinnosuke Tokudume as Feyrith.

TBATE Season 2 premieres Wednesday, April 1 on Crunchyroll. Season 1 is available now.
