January 26, 2026, WEBTOON debuts two brand new Video Episodes on its platform for Brent Bristol’s series Ordeal and Brandon Chen, JKSManga, and Inuupen’s series Just A Goblin.
These short-form Video episodes usually around 5 to 7 minutes in length are more akin to motion-comics, rather than fully animated adaptations. They come complete with music, voice-acting, audio effects, and the of motion in-scene through camera tracking, image layering, and image puppetry.
We here at K-Comics Beat were more than honored to be given an exclusive first look at two of these newest short-form videos for Ordeal and Just A Goblin. These videos actually cover the first episode of their respective series in its entirety from the very first panel to the last. With the Just A Goblin episode 1 video it really nails each panel with clever overlaps, transitions, and voice over work.
I do love how some of the images are layered and animated to give this sort of storybook feeling. My personal favorite is Ordeal‘s episode 1 video episode which has such a cool vibe and energy to the animation and personally I love the voice acting in this. Not only that but the quality reminds me so much of ONE‘s motion comics from the Halo: Evolutions series. Also, do believe that is Brent Bristol’s own voice doing the narration which honestly makes it feel so much more like he is actually narrating his own story. It’s a nice touch that I don’t recall being done before in other media, especially in the Webtoons/Anime/Manga sphere.
Video episodes were launched in 2025 bringing some of WEBTOON’s series to life and can be viewed through the watch tab available within the WEBTOON app on Android and IOS devices. Some series that have available Video episodes include Morgana and Oz, Fae Trapped, Suitor Armor, Star Catcher, and even The Mafia Nanny.
The video episodes for Ordeal and Just A Goblin will be available to the public in WEBTOON’s app later tonight on 6PM PT/9PM ET.
