Netflix’s Extraction universe is expanding. The streaming giant has announced a new thriller, TYGO, starring Don Lee, Lee Jin-uk, and Lalisa ‘Lisa’ Manobal of BLACKPINK. It will be produced by Big Punch Pictures and AGBO, with co-production by Nova Film Inc and B&C Group.
Here’s the synopsis from Netflix:
TYGO follows Tygo (Don Lee), a former child soldier turned mercenary who embarks on a revenge mission through Korea’s underworld after a mission gone wrong. Blending high-octane action with emotional depth, the film showcases the precision and craftsmanship of Korean filmmaking within Netflix’s global scale.
“We’re thrilled to explore the world of Extraction through a South Korean lens, teaming up with legendary action star Don Lee and visionary director Lee Sang-yong, whose dynamic choreography exemplifies the world-class craft of Korean cinema,” said AGBO producer and CCO Angela Russo-Otstot, reflecting on AGBO’s continuing relationship with Netflix and its collaboration with Big Punch, Nova Films, and B&C Group for TYGO.
“Together, we proudly welcome Lisa, a truly multitalented global phenomenon, and Lee Jin-uk, one of Korea’s most charismatic and versatile actors, to lead our cast alongside Don. We’’e also grateful to continue our creative partnership with Netflix. TYGO marks our ninth collaboration and reflects our shared commitment to bold, global storytelling,” she continued.
Nova Film CEO Choi Won-ki further emphasized the project’s scale, stating, “Behind TYGO stands a team of seasoned filmmakers and an exceptional cast from Korea and Hollywood, brought together by the global entertainment service Netflix to reach viewers worldwide.

Extraction is based on the 2014 graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, and artist Fernando Leon Gonzalez. Its first two films starring Chris Hemsworth, written by Joe Russo, and directed by Sam Hargrave cemented the franchise as Netflix’s most successful action property, and a series is currently in the works.
“I’m thrilled that this project, which I’ve been developing for years with AGBO, is finally moving into production,” said star and producer Don Lee. “TYGO brings a distinctly Korean identity into the global Extraction universe. We can’t wait to unleash its explosive energy on audiences worldwide.”
Squid Game star Jin-uk added, “As a fan of the Extraction franchise, it’s a great honor for me to join this universe. I’m especially excited and grateful to be working with Don, whom I’ve always admired, and with Lisa as well. I’ll do my very best to present a film that lives up to your expectations.”
BLACKPINK’s Lisa, who made her acting debut in The White Lotus Season 3, makes her first major film debut in TYGO. She said, “I’m so honored to be a part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors. Being in an action movie has always been a dream of mine, so for my film debut to be such an exciting project feels very special.”
