Beloved WLW manwha Unnie, I Like You! is getting a print release via TOKYOPOP.
In an exclusive interview with The Beat, TOKYOPOP editor-in-chief Lena Atanassova revealed that the publisher has partnered with Webtoon to release a full-color graphic novel edition of the webcomic by creator Jeongussi.
“I’m thrilled about our first full-color GL webtoon print release, Unnie, I Like You!” Atalassan said. “It’s a lighthearted, slice-of-life romance between two women who are very different from one another, yet share a past life as fated lovers. We’re so excited to partner with Webtoon and creator Jeongussi to bring this charming story to print for the first time.”
Unnie, I Like You! debuted in June 2024 and at time of writing has more than 60 episodes available to read on the Webtoon app. The story follows Park Chanmi, a graduate student who remembers every painful moment of her past life including the loss of her true love Hanbyeol. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of her soulmate.
Here’s the full synopsis:
Park Chanmi vividly remembers her past life, where she harbored deep feelings for the beautiful Hanbyeol, whose life tragically ended too soon. In her present life, Chanmi is startled to discover that her lost love has returned as a university professor yet does not recall their past life. Fearing history may repeat itself, Chanmi is determined to protect the sole person she cherishes the most.
Creator Jeongussi updates Unni, I Like You! every Wednesday. The app is five chapters ahead of the website, but the entire series is available to read for free.
TOKYOPOP has yet to release details for the Unni print release. Stay tuned for more.
