Inklore is taking a departure from its usual line-up by licensing its first gothic horror series.

Random House Worlds’ manhwa imprint announced the print license for Delusion, written and illustrated by Hongjacga. The series is already available digitally on WEBTOON, where it has drawn more than 10.1 million views. Inklore has not yet revealed a release window.

All 60 episodes of Delusion premiered on March 24, 2021. WEBTOON describes the series as follows:

It’s 1935 in Gyeongseong, and struggling artist Iho Yun has been commissioned by the reclusive, elderly Madam Jeonghwa Song to paint a portrait. Madam Jeonghwa Song allows Iho to set eyes upon her — an unprecedented event — and standing before him is a young woman. But why does she ask him to paint an elderly version of her? “Don’t finish the portrait.” Tucked between the previous artist’s paint tubes is an ominous letter. Iho learns that no artist has left Madam Song’s abode alive or of sound mind. Just what is she hiding and what will happen if Iho finishes the portrait?

Delusion has also inspired a drama adaptation starring Bae Suzy and Kim Seonho as Song Jeonghwa and Yun Iho, after producers initially offered the roles to Han Sohee and Ryu Junyeol. Disney+ will release the series in 2026.

Until now, Inklore has focused mainly on romances—such as the romantasy hits Father, I Don’t Want This Marriage, Under the Oak Tree, and The Broken Ring—as well as BL fan-favorites like King’s Maker and Wet Sand. The Delusion license may signal an expansion of its catalog into darker genres.

You can read Delusion on WEBTOON now.
