We’ve all read those reincarnated-into-a-villain stories and know how they go… but what if the plot goes off script?
That’s exactly the problem Suna Choi faces in Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story. Ize Press, the Yen Press imprint specializing in English licenses of Korean webcomics and webnovels, announced they licensed the series. The first volume will release in February 2026.
Originally written as a webnovel by Lemon Frog, Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story was later adapted into a webcomic by DOYOSAY with A-jin as the artist. Naver WEBTOON published the Korean release on April 3, 2023, and WEBTOON launched the English serialization on September 18 that same year. The main story wrapped after two seasons and 100 episodes, and the creators are currently releasing side stories. On the English platform, the webcomic has amassed over 123 million views.
The story follows Suna Choi, a young woman who dies at the hands of her ex and wakes up as the villain in her favorite webnovel. Now Edith Rigelhof, she believes she can survive by avoiding all of the original Edith’s pitfalls. After all, she’s read the novel and knows the script. The problem? Nothing follows the plot she knows, and her new husband, Killian Rudwick, refuses to love her—choosing instead to find fault in everything she does. Edith must find a way to break free from the story’s grip before it swallows her whole.
