Tappytoon has announced that The First Night with the Duke will join its webcomic library on August 14.
The hit comic is based on an original work by Hwang DoTol, adapted by Teava, with artwork by MSG. During its original run, the webcomic concluded on August 21, 2022, with 84 main story episodes and 18 spin-off chapters.
Synopsis:
A handsome, selfish noble falls for a beautiful, kind commoner—or at least, that’s how the story is supposed to go. When an average college student wakes up as Ripley, an extra in her favorite romance novel, she decides to enjoy the luxuries of her character’s status while watching the plot unfold from the sidelines. However, her plans derail when she wakes up in bed with none other than Duke Zeronis, the novel’s hero! As she dodges the villainess’ schemes, the Duke’s advances, and her own growing feelings, can Ripley keep the story on track and survive beyond the first night?
This summer, a K-Drama adaptation of The First Night with the Duke aired after its announcement in April. The drama starred Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun and 2PM‘s Taecyeon as Cha Sun Chaek (Ripley in the English version) and Yi Beon (Zeronis in the English version). The series changed the setting to the Joseon Dynasty instead of the original Western backdrop. According to a translation from Soompi, the romance between Cha Sun Chaek and Yi Beon transcends time, space, dimension, and reality.
The webcomic is also available on WEBTOON, where it has surpassed 113 million views.
