The webcomic adaptation of When the Third Wheel Strikes Back will conclude with its second season, according to illustrator 러기럭. Episode 96, which dropped on June 22, marks the end of the series, and starting July 8, episodes have been placed behind a paywall.

In a message to fans, 러기럭 expressed heartfelt gratitude for readers’ continued support. They shared their disappointment over the early conclusion and explained that they could no longer continue illustrating the series. Despite the abrupt end, they encouraged fans to check out the original novel, noting they’ll be following the newly released side stories as a reader themselves. 러기럭 also thanked fans for their enthusiastic comments on each update, saying it gave them the strength to keep going.
Originally written by Sookym and published on Munpia in 2020, the When the Third Wheel Strikes Back webnovel spans 920 chapters, with 22 side stories released so far. The series earned the “Rookie of the Year Award” at the 2020 Munpia Webnovel Contest and later won the Grand Prize in the Fantasy eBook category at the 2021 Ridibooks Webnovel Awards. The manhwa adaptation began with Slipperman as the writer and Haegeuneul as the illustrator for Season 1, before 러기럭 took over in Season 2.
