Following in the footsteps of Weak Hero Class, a new high school fighting series is ready to make its mark.
Streaming platform Wavve released the trailer for the upcoming drama adaptation of ONE: High School Heroes. Based on the Kakao Daum webtoon ONE by Lee Eunjae, the series unfortunately doesn’t have an official English translation. The story follows top student Kim Ui Gyeom, who joins forces with Kang Yoon Gi to form a masked vigilante group called “High School Heroes” that fights against the school’s violent social hierarchy. The trailer teases jaw-dropping fight scenes and gritty confrontations.
Lee Jungha stars as Kim Ui Gyeom, a quiet honor student whose long history of abuse awakens a fierce fighting spirit. Kim Dowan plays Kang Yoon Gi, who sees Ui Gyeom’s potential and has his own reasons for joining forces. Yuk Junseo takes on the role of mysterious transfer student Lee Geoljae, while Yoo Hee Je plays Choi Kisoo, the school’s top fighter.
The cast features a lineup of rising actors. Lee debuted in Heart Attack Warning (2017) and gained recognition as Kim Bong-seok in Disney+’s Moving. Kim previously appeared as Do Jae-jin in My Roommate Is a Gumiho and starred in the webcomic adaptation Doona!. Yuk portrayed Staff Sergeant Bang Jin-ho in Sweet Home Season 2, and Yoo has acted in Connection and the 2019 film Long Live the King.
ONE: High School Heroes premieres May 30.
