Ize Press unveiled two new manhwa licenses at this year’s SakuraCon.
The Korean manhwa imprint announced it will release print editions of the GL manhwa I Love Amy and the romantasy drama The Merman Trapped in My Lake. Release dates for both series have yet to be revealed.
I Love Amy
A sweet GL manhwa created by unni, I Love Amy follows a bubbly girl named Bibi who is obsessed (and we mean really obsessed) with the cutest boy at school, Peter. Nobody can have Peter—least of all some random girl Bibi spots talking to him! She hatches a devious plan and invites the girl, Amy, over for a sleepover. But Amy surprises Bibi by showing her how much fun they can have together. The two team up to find ways for Bibi to win Peter’s heart… but little does Bibi know, her heart might already belong to someone else.
Marking Ize Press’s first GL series, I Love Amy is planned as a four-volume release and offers a captivating blend of sweetness and creepiness. The series is currently available to read digitally on Tappytoon.
The Merman Trapped in My Lake
Originally a webnovel by Mitchu, The Merman Trapped in My Lake was adapted into a webcomic illustrated by R.PPOBI. The story follows a young woman named Servaine Noxirel, who becomes enraptured by a merman her father gifts her. So deep is her love that she traps him in a lake, hoping to keep him by her side forever. But her life is cut short, and just before she dies, she confesses her love—never hearing his reply.
A hundred years later, the merman, Mel, has become human. He encounters Servaine’s great-grandniece—who shares her name and looks—and wonders if the woman he loved has somehow returned. But what feelings remain in Mel’s heart after all this time?
The Merman Trapped in My Lake recently hit one million views. The series updates every Monday on WEBTOON.
