Say goodbye to SA YE: RUN WILD on Tappytoon

Sa Ye: Run Wild will be taken off Tappytoon on April 30.

We all knew it was coming, but it still stings—Sa Ye: Run Wild will soon be gone for good.

Just two months after the sudden cancellation of the Sa Ye manhua, illustrated by Zuoercongdong, on its original Chinese platform, Tappytoon—the official English publisher—has announced the series will be delisted on April 30 at 12 AM EST. As of this article’s writing, 121 episodes are currently available, though it’s unclear whether the remaining twenty-something chapters (the series ended at 146) will be added before it disappears.

First released on August 18, 2023, the manhua has been a treasured adaptation of Wu Zhe’s beloved webnovel. Readers who’ve already unlocked episodes can still access them via the “My List,” “Unlocked,” and “Recent” tabs on Tappytoon. And for anyone who’s been holding off on purchasing chapters—don’t wait. It’s highly unlikely the series will be returning.

Currently, the Sa Ye webnovel remains the only officially accessible format. Though both a donghua and a live-action adaptation (renamed Chasing the Light) were previously announced, strict Chinese censorship laws have kept both projects in limbo. With the manhua now officially joining the list of casualties, fans are left with just the original text—and their memories.

Sa Ye follows Jiang Cheng, a teen uprooted from his life after learning the truth about his adoption. Forced to live with his biological father in a rundown town, Jiang Cheng plots his escape—until he meets Gu Miao, a mute girl who communicates through snaps, and her older brother Gu Fei. What begins as reluctance turns into something unexpected: hope.

Tappytoon also confirmed another series will be departing alongside Sa Ye: Run Wild. Don’t Cry, created by Ada, JiaoXiangTing, and Quxiaoqu, will also be removed on April 30 at 12 AM EST. All 119 chapters are currently on sale for 150 points.

If you’ve ever loved Sa Ye: Run Wild, now’s the time to buy it—before it’s gone forever.
