If you thought Weak Hero Class 1 was dramatic, you’re not prepared for Weak Hero Class 2.
Netflix has dropped the latest trailer for the sequel to the 2022 K-drama hit Weak Hero Class 1. The trailer introduces Union—a group made up of all the school gangs in the area. They inspire fear in everyone they encounter—except, perhaps, Yeon Sieun. Weak Hero Class 2 looks to deliver an even more intense season than the first.
The first trailer struck a more somber tone, with Yeon Sieun (played by Park Jihoon) apologizing to his friend Suho for getting into another fight. In Season 2, Sieun transfers to a new school following the traumatic events of Season 1. His resolve to keep to himself quickly falters after he meets Seo Juntae (Choi Minyoung), Go Hun Tak (Lee Min Jae), and Park Hu-min (Ryeoun).
Created by Han Jun Hee and directed by Yoo Su Min, the duo promised—via a Soompi translation—that Season 2 would center on “the theme of ‘reconciliation'” and explore Yeon Sieun’s continued personal growth. Yoo added, “Sieun’s action becomes even more desperate. We focused more deeply on why he fights.”
The first season premiered on Wavve on November 18, 2022, and arrived on Netflix on March 25. Based on the webtoon Weak Hero by Seopass and Kim Jin-seok, Weak Hero Class 1 follows a highly intelligent high schooler named Yeon Sieun, whose peaceful—if monotonous—life is disrupted by bullies. Although he isn’t as physically strong, Sieun uses his intelligence to escape difficult situations and outwit his enemies.
Weak Hero Class 2 premieres on Netflix on April 25. The webtoon is available on WEBTOON.
