Get ready for arguably one of the best arcs in Solo Leveling.

On March 2, Crunchyroll released a climax trailer for the upcoming “Jeju Island” arc. The trailer shows Sung Jinwoo rising from a weak E-Rank Hunter, leveling up, and building his shadow army—all to cure his mother. Now, Jinwoo faces a new challenge: the fourth raid on Jeju Island, home to dangerous winged ants. Fifteen S-Rank Hunters, including the newly appointed tenth S-Rank Hunter Jinwoo, join the operation.

A-1 Pictures animated and produced the first season, which premiered in January 2024. Shunsuke Nakashige directed, Noboru Kimura wrote the scripts, and Hiroyuki Sawano composed the music. The second season, Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, aired in January 2025. LiSA and Stray Kids’ Felix perform the opening theme “ReawakeR,” while TK from Ling Tosite Sigure sings the ending theme “Un-Apex.”

Solo Leveling, one of the most popular series, began as a webnovel by Chugong in July 2016. The story unfolds in a world where monsters emerge from portals called Dungeons, threatening humanity. Only Hunters, powerful humans, can stop them. Sung Jinwoo, once mocked as the weakest Hunter, now stands as the world’s most powerful, carrying humanity’s fate on his shoulders.

The webnovel inspired a webcomic, illustrated by DUBU, which ran from March 2018 to December 2021. Tragically, DUBU passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage shortly after. To honor DUBU’s legacy, side stories were published from January to May 2023.

A spin-off, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, premiered on April 10, 2023, following Jinwoo’s son, Sung Suho. Daul wrote the spin-off, and REDICE Studio adapted it into a webcomic on August 1, 2024, with Dandgo as the writer and Jin as the artist.

Kakao Entertainment greenlit a live-action adaptation, with its media division handling planning, development, and scriptwriting. The cast and crew remain unannounced.

The second season is streaming on Crunchyroll now.
