SOLO LEVELING Season 2: LiSA and Stray Kids’ Felix join forces for epic opening theme

Solo Leveling‘s opening theme song for Season 2, performed by two of the biggest names in J-Pop and K-Pop, “reawakens” fans.

January is coming fast and in no time, the hotly anticipated second season of Solo Leveling will be upon us. Before that, Solo Leveling has given fans a sneak peek into the opening theme song “ReawakeR” by LiSA, featuring Felix of Stray Kids. Hiroyuki Sawano, who produced the first season’s opening theme, composes the second season’s opening as well.

This isn’t the first collaboration between LiSA and Stray Kids as the K-Pop group released a rock song “Social Path” featuring LiSA in August 2023. Fans have been hoping for an anime collaboration of some sort since then.

Stray Kids has previously contributed their vocals to other anime OSTs, most notably the opening and ending theme songs for Tower of God Season 1 and the opening theme song for Season 2. The group demonstrated their love for anime by dropping references to numerous series in their other songs.

LiSA has been a huge name in the J-Pop and anime space with her theme songs “Gurenge,” “Homura,” and “Shirogane” from Demon Slayer charting on music charts and winning awards. “Gurenge,” in particular, became the first single by a female artist to surpass a million downloads on Oricon’s digital single ranking chart.

Chugong originally wrote the story as a webnovel, which the late DUBU later adapted into a webcomic. Together, the novel and webcomic have surpassed 14.3 billion views worldwide. Solo Leveling centers around a lowly E-Rank Hunter named Sung Jinwoo who later becomes the world’s greatest Hunter after encountering a System that allows him to level up constantly.

A-1 Pictures adapted Solo Leveling into an anime in January 2024, with Shunsuke Nakashige directing. The series has earned praise for its action sequences and animation quality. The creators announced a second season after Season 1 concluded. A compilation film called Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- will release in the U.S. and Canada on December 6 where fans can watch the first two episodes of Season 2 before it premieres in January 2025.
