BOOM! Studios’ 2017 comic series, FENCE is set to launch today on WEBTOON in a vertical scroll format. Writer C.S. Pacat and artist Johanna the Mad‘s GLAAD award-winning sports drama will have its original issues and graphic novels on the platform. FENCE is the latest series under BOOM! Studios’ library to jump formats.
After its initial twelve issue run from 2017 to 2018, FENCE had a break until it returned five years later as a four issue run under Fence: Redemption. Since then, the story continued through as a limited series and one-shots with Fence Challengers: Long Shot, Fence Challengers: Sweet Sixteen, Fence Breakthrough: Game Changer, and Fence Breakthrough: QuarterClash.
Sixteen-year-old Nicholas Cox is an outsider to the competitive fencing world. Filled with raw talent but lacking proper training, he dreams of getting the chance and the training to actually compete. After getting accepted to the prodigious Kings Row private school, Nicholas finds himself facing not only his golden-boy half-brother, but the unbeatable, mysterious Seiji Katayama.
