If you’ve ever wanted Shinji Ikari from Evangelion, Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, or Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series to tell you your laundry is done, now is your time.
Sharp, a Japanese consumer product company, launched a voice subscription service for their AIoT home devices. Choose amongst thirteen different voices for only 550 yen per month per appliance through Sharp’s COCORO HOME app. These AIoT Smart Life Appliances include items such as rice cookers, washing machines, and air purifiers. As part of its COCORO+ HOME brand, specifically under COCORO VOICE, Sharp has partnered with some of the biggest voice actors in anime to the kitchen and living room.
Previously, Sharp’s COCORO VOICE has partnered with anime titles such as The Great Ace Attorney in 2025, HIROGARU SKY! Precure in 2023 and Yuru Camp in 2022. For Yuru Camp, fans could buy either Kagamihara Nadeshiko or Shima Rinto’s voice pack for 3,300 yen each. These voices are accessible through the COCORO HOME app, and are compatible with certain models of Sharp’s smart steam ovens and cooking pots. These custom responses include morning, noon, and evening greetings, menu recommendations, and comments after the appliance finishes cooking.
Now, fans can choose and switch from fifteen talented voice actors, such as Shouta Aoi, Kaito Ishikawa, Eguchi Takuya, Shun Horie, Megumi Ogata, Hayami Sho, Yuki Kaji, Takaya Kuroda, Junichi Suwabe, Shinya Takahashi, Shunsuke Takeuchi, Shugo Nakamura, Koutaro Nishiyama, Kosuke Oki, Tomokazu Sugita, and Toshiyuki Morikawa. The website for this subscription service pitches these voices as motivation, since the voice of your favorite character might help you put more effort in daily housework. More voice actors will be included in the future.
Depending on the appliance, the recorded voice lines include:
- Morning, afternoon, and evening greetings
- How to operate the home appliance
- Special recommended dishes
- Comment after cooking is complete
- Air quality information
For now, the Voice Actor Plan seems to only be available in Japan.
