Seven Seas, one of the leading publishers in the Chinese Boys’ Love novels field more commonly known as danmei, will be releasing new editions of two of its already licensed series.
Panguan: The Twelfth Gate by Mu Su Li was announced at Anime NYC last year only as a paperback. Now, the publisher is offering both a regular and a special edition that will include additional merch with new art that collectors won’t want to miss. The release date is September 2026.
Little Mushroom by Yi Shi Si Zhou was also announced as a regular and special edition last year. Now, the publisher will be releasing the fan-favorite, award-winning novel in a deluxe, hardcover format.
Seven Seas also clarified on its X (formerly Twitter) account that the deluxe hardcover format will be released in place of the regular and special editions. The publisher urges the readers who have already preordered to double-check with their retailers and make changes accordingly.
Below, you can find detailed summaries and more information on these newly-announced editions.
Little Mushroom

Author: Yi Shi Si Zhou
Release Date: August 2026
“In a near-future world, humans and non-humans alike must endure in a world that wants them dead. The fan-favorite danmei (Boys’ Love) novels return with an all-new translation and illustrations!”
In the year 2020, humanity was nearly wiped out by cosmic radiation. Over the next one hundred years, living creatures began to change and mutate while the remaining humans struggled to survive in man-made bases.
Down in the Abyss, a home to mutated xenogenics, there lived a sentient mushroom. Nourished by the flesh and blood of the deceased An Ze, the mushroom took on the form of its host and even adopted a similar name: An Zhe. Seeking his missing spore, harvested by humans, An Zhe is determined to make it to the human base to retrieve what’s his. But the closer he gets to the base, the higher his risk of death increases.
Unfortunately for An Zhe, there are those who prowl the streets seeking xenogenics like himself—known as Judges, they inspect and eliminate non-humans without a second thought, sparing no one. And when An Zhe finds himself under the scrutiny of Colonel Lu Feng—the most perceptive and merciless of the Judges—he somehow goes undetected but not unsuspected. Lu Feng knows there’s something off about An Zhe, and he’s not letting him out of his sight until he figures it out.
Can An Zhe get back his spore without revealing his mutation to Lu Feng, or will everything unravel?
