KPOP DEMON HUNTERS co-director Maggie Kang honored with cultural merit

The Korea Content Awards recognized Kang on Wednesday

KPop Demon Hunters co-director Maggie Kang has been recognized by the South Korean culture ministry and will receive one of the country’s highest honors for her work.

On Wednesday, the culture ministry announced that Kang will be awarded South Korea’s Okgwan (Jade Crown) Order of Cultural Merit—the fourth highest class of the country’s cultural awards—for boosting Korean culture around the world.

Kang was presented with the award on Wednesday night at the 2025 Korea Content Awards in Seoul, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency. In total, 24 individuals and 15 works were awarded for their contributions to developing Korean content and its global profile.
