BOOK☆WALKER Global announces platform overhaul for 2026 to enhance user experience

-

Kadokawa’s official e-book platform, BOOK☆WALKER Global, has announced a total platform overhaul for 2026 that will enhance and modernize the user experience. To celebrate the update, CEO Samuel Pinansky will host a first look livestream on YouTube on Friday to show off the new features and answer questions.

Per Bookwalker, the update includes the following key features:

  • Seamless Library Transfer: Existing users’ English books and past purchases will be preserved and automatically transferred to the new platform without them having to do anything special.
  • Next-Generation Reader: Readers can access manga and novels on updated apps and a fully redesigned and rebuilt website, which will offer a more modernized experience.
  • Updated Login: Users may be required to set a new password to access their content, but everything will be in-tact upon logging in.
  • Future Enhancements: The platform will continue to roll out performance improvements and feature updates, with announcements to come.

“The world of digital manga has changed a lot since BOOK☆WALKER Global was started nearly 10 years ago, and it’s high time that Bookwalker is reborn into a platform that meets the needs of the readers of today,” said Pinansky in the announcement.

“This new platform will have better search and discovery, cleaner design, a reader platform that is fully standards compliant, and a tech stack which is designed for scalability, upgradability, and adaptability to whatever challenges this ever-changing market throws at us,” he continued.

For more information, tune into the Bookwalker livestream on Friday, December 12 at 7 p.m. ET on YouTube.
