BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) has done it again—turning an ordinary item into the internet’s latest obsession. Forbes recently reported that the Hirono Living Wild Doll, a plush toy from collectible brand Pop Mart, sold out within hours after V was spotted carrying one at Incheon Airport.
The frenzy began when fans identified the plush in photos and videos of the singer. Soon after, Pop Mart’s Chinese website reportedly sold out of more than 500 units, and resale listings appeared on eBay for as high as $175—over three times the original price.
The timing of the craze follows what Forbes calls “the end of the Labubu era,” referring to Pop Mart’s previously viral toy series. The outlet suggests that the spotlight has now shifted to Hirono, thanks to V’s influence.
Whether this plush is a passing fad or the start of Pop Mart’s next big phenomenon, one thing is certain—when BTS’s V shows love for something, fans around the world take notice.
