The story of Seoul’s demon-fighting idols might not be over. KPop Demon Hunters co-director Maggie Kang hinted that a sequel could be on the horizon during a recent interview with the BBC.
“There’s definitely more we can do with these characters,” Kang teased, fueling speculation that fans could see the demon-hunting idol crew in a follow-up film.
Since its debut, KPop Demon Hunters has taken the world by storm, quickly becoming Netflix’s most-watched film of all time, surpassing Squid Game with over 325 million global views. The movie’s blend of pop-star sparkle, urban fantasy, and heartfelt storytelling has resonated deeply with audiences—especially fans of Korean animation, anime, and K-Pop culture.
With its dynamic soundtrack and expressive animation style, the film’s world feels ripe for expansion. Whether through a direct sequel, a series spinoff, or short-form stories, fans are already speculating how Kang and co-director Chris Appelhans might continue exploring the lore of Seoul’s supernatural underworld.
Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed a sequel, but given KPop Demon Hunters’ massive success and growing awards buzz—including Oscar talk for its breakout track “Golden”—it might only be a matter of time before these idols take the stage again.
