Maronne Cruz, the singing voice behind Zoey in the Filipino dub of KPop Demon Hunters, recently shared a hilarious TikTok video that’s quickly captured fans’ attention.
In the 10-second clip, Maronne introduces herself, saying, “So I’m Zoey’s vocalist in the KPop Demon Hunters Filipino dub, but also, I’m so excited because I finally have my very own KPop Demon Hunters cospla—” before it abruptly cuts to her dressed as Mystery Saja from the Saja Boys. Netflix Philippines responded with amusement, writing, “Got me in the first half not gonna lie.” Maronne replied, “Rly said, ‘I’m bout to switch up these vibes.’”
This isn’t the first time a Philippines brand has joined in on the KPop Demon Hunters fun. Back in July, fast-food chain Chowking posted a clever homage to the franchise with their very own satirical Saya Boys and Hungrix, using their siomai and buchi as lightstick toppers. The caption read: “Take down, take down down down down GUTOM! Pero sino munan bias niyo? Are you #TeamSayaBoys or #TeamHungrix?”
Since its Netflix debut, KPop Demon Hunters has continued to dominate the charts and fan communities alike. The film became the streamer’s most-watched animated release, while its soundtrack repeatedly tops Billboard charts. With official lightsticks, costumes, and merchandise dropping regularly, the craze shows no signs of slowing down.
