WEBTOON has announced that it will officially shut down its fan translation platform, WEBTOON Translate, this November.
A pop-up notice on the Translate website reads:
END OF SERVICE NOTICE
To our community,
We have made the difficult decision to terminate the WEBTOON Translate service.
Service End Date: November 26, 2025 (PT)
We recommend that you save your translation records and work history separately before the service is terminated. After the service is terminated, you will be unable to check or restore the records of your translations in any way.

Clicking “See More Details” directs users to an extended End of Service Notice dated September 17, 2025, which includes FAQs explaining what will happen to user data, how to download translation records, and whether users can continue translation work after the shutdown. New user registrations were disabled as of September 24, 2025 (PT).
Launched to provide fans with tools to translate and share WEBTOON content across different languages, Translate fostered a vibrant global community of volunteer translators and readers. Its closure marks the end of a unique fan-driven chapter in WEBTOON’s history—one that helped bridge creators and audiences across cultures.
