LORD OF MYSTERIES releases ambitious 10-year schedule for donghua

Lord of Mysteries has an ambitious roadmap for the next decade.

Fans often wait months—or even years—for updates on a second season. Sometimes a hit series sparks an immediate renewal. But Lord of Mysteries has gone a step further, releasing a tentative production schedule that stretches all the way to 2035. The team plans to adapt the original novel into seven seasons, three special episodes, and a final movie.

According to the timeline, the releases are planned as follows:

• Special Episode 1 in 2026
• Season 2 in 2027
• Special Episode 2 in 2029
• Season 3 in 2030
• Season 4 in 2032
• Season 5 in 2033
• Seasons 6 and 7 in 2034
• Special Episode 3 in 2025
• Final movie in 2035

The donghua, produced by B.C. May Pictures, adapts the popular webnovel series by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving. Xiong Ke directed Season 1, which debuted on June 28 to rave reviews and strong viewership. While the adaptation was originally reported to run for just five seasons, the new long-term roadmap reflects the novel’s enduring popularity.

Lord of Mysteries follows Zhou Mingrui, who transmigrates into the body of university student Klein Moretti after Klein mysteriously “commits suicide.” He awakens in a Victorian-inspired world where Beyonders—humans with supernatural powers—roam. Trying to recreate the ritual that brought him there, Zhou Mingrui stumbles into the Divine Realm, takes on the mantle of a godlike figure known as The Fool, and forms the Tarot Club. As he grows stronger as a Beyonder, he also seeks the truth behind Klein’s death.

Yen Press has licensed the English translation of Lord of Mysteries. The first volume hit shelves on July 29, and the second volume, The Clown, Part II, will release on December 9.

Season 1 of Lord of Mysteries is available to stream on Crunchyroll, though the platform has not yet confirmed whether it will broadcast future seasons.
