Rei Ami, the singing voice of Zoey in KPop Demon Hunters, addressed rumors about alleged AI involvement in the film’s soundtrack.
An X (formerly Twitter) user reposted a message celebrating HUNTR/X becoming the first female K-pop song to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, adding: “Y’all realize this is one step towards AI completely taking over the music industry as well, right?” Rei Ami replied bluntly: “EJAE, AUDREY NUNA AND I ARE NOT AI—ARE U BITCHES DUMB?!”
Fans praised the singer’s response, noting that EJAE has openly shared details about writing the movie’s hit track “Golden,” which she called the most difficult song for her to sing.
The confusion actually centered around “Soda Pop,” performed by the Saja Boys. The controversy began when Sherwin Wu, Head of Engineering at OpenAI, posted on X claiming that Vince, one of the song’s writers, said ChatGPT was used to make the track sound “more bubbly.” However, it was later revealed that the claim came from a mistranslation and misleading tweet.
