WEBTOON Entertainment Inc. has announced the winners of its inaugural “Webcomic Legends” contest, celebrating the next generation of webcomic creators with over $1 million in cash prizes. Leading the pack is Akikakie, whose action-packed series Covenant once given earned the $150,000 Grand Prize and a coveted spot on the WEBTOON Originals platform.
The contest drew nearly 4,000 entries from new and returning CANVAS creators, amassing over 5.3 million views. Designed as a launchpad for emerging talent, “Webcomic Legends” gives amateur creators the opportunity to reach millions of readers and transition to professional careers as WEBTOON Originals artists.

Covenant once given follows Noah, a young man whose life is upended by a witch. His search leads him to the mysterious City of Bridges, where he uncovers secrets beyond his imagination. The series also took home the contest’s Most Epic category.
