Korea shows its pride for Netflix sensation KPop Demon Hunters in style.

On September 7 at 8 PM, Huntr/x and the Saja Boys lit up the skies above the Ttukseom Hangang River. Against the dark night, 1,200 drones soared to showcase Huntr/x battling demons, Rumi, Zoey slurping ramen, the Saja Boys performing “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol” on a billboard, Jinu wearing a gat, and fan favorites Derpy and Sussie. The drones also highlighted landmarks from Seoul, including the Cheongdam Bridge and Bukchon Hanok Village.

Premiering on Netflix on June 20, KPop Demon Hunters has made history. The film now ranks as the platform’s most-watched title with more than 236 million views—and counting. Following its streaming success, Netflix released the movie in theaters for one week as a singalong version. The limited run grossed around $18 million, surpassing films like Weapons and Freakier Friday. Fans’ love for the soundtrack also shines: “Golden” earned a VMA nomination for Song of the Summer, while the rest of the album continues to top global charts.

Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and produced by Sony Pictures Animation, KPop Demon Hunters blends fantasy, action, and music. The story follows HUNTR/X, a trio of pop stars who secretly double as demon hunters. Their mission to seal the Honmoon—a mystical barrier preventing demons from entering the world—takes a turn when demons disguise themselves as a dreamy five-member boy group.

A sequel is already in development, though details about the plot, cast, and staff remain under wraps.

KPop Demon Hunters is now streaming on Netflix.
