Netflix has tallied the views and officially announced: KPop Demon Hunters is their most-watched film of all time.
The animated hit has racked up 236 million views, surpassing the previous record-holder, Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Gosling, and Gal Gadot, which totaled 230 million views. The film had already been recognized as Netflix’s most-watched animated movie before this milestone.

The current list of Netflix’s most-watched films is as follows:
- KPop Demon Hunters – 236,000,000
- Red Notice – 230,900,000
- Carry-On – 172,100,000
- Don’t Look Up – 171,400,000
- The Adam Project – 157,600,000
- Bird Box – 157,400,000
- Back in Action – 147,200,000
- Leave the World Behind – 143,400,000

Since its June 20 premiere, KPop Demon Hunters has steadily climbed in popularity, hitting a new viewership peak during its fifth week—an unusual feat for streaming films, which typically see declines after release.
The soundtrack has also shattered records. EJAE, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna’s “Golden,” along with Andrew Choi, Samuil Lee, Kevin Woo, Neckwav, and Danny Chung’s “Soda Pop,” reached the top four spots on the Billboard Global 200, alongside “How It’s Done” and “Your Idol.”
KPop Demon Hunters, created by Maggie Kang and co-directed by Chris Appelhans, merges K-Pop, Korean mythology, and folklore. The story follows the girl group trio HUNTR/X, who secretly double as demon hunters. As the Golden Honmoon—a barrier meant to permanently seal demons—nears completion, the demon king Gwi-Ma forms a rival K-Pop boy group, the Saja Boys, to challenge them.
The film’s global popularity even prompted a short theatrical release, which grossed $16–$18 million during its weekend run, topping the box office.
KPop Demon Hunters is available for streaming on Netflix now.
