-

We finally have a premiere date for the animated adaptation of Dragon Girl.

Streaming platform LAFTEL released the main trailer, which showcases more character interactions—including Kim Yongman delivering a bar of chocolate to Shim Hae-soo, who always wears a dark expression. Viewers also meet Namu-jin, who professes his love to Yongman, sparking jealousy in Hae-soo. The trailer delivers both comedic and sweet moments.

Written and illustrated by Olso, Dragon Girl is a fantasy romcom webcomic about the eighteen-year-old daughter of the dragon king, who escapes to the world above water after her father tries to force her into an arranged marriage. Kim Yongman refuses to marry — she wants to live a normal life, and what better way than attending high school? Once there, she sets her sights on becoming the number one student, but first she’ll have to dethrone the current top student, Shim Hae-soo.

Dragon Girl debuted on Naver Webtoon on December 22, 2020. The series went on hiatus on March 18, 2025, due to Olso’s health issues. It currently has 87 episodes, with no return date announced at the time of writing.

LAFTEL also offers other animated adaptations, including Semantic Error, 4 Week Lovers, Dangerous Convenience Store, Pyramid Gameand Red Fox.

Dragon Girl premieres on LAFTEL on October 3. An official English translation is not yet available.
