Anime NYC: Tappytoon returns to Anime NYC with exclusive merch and first U.S. signing for KING’S MAKER creators

Boys’ Love and romance-fantasy webtoon fans can expect merch exclusives, giveaways, and a rare creator meet-and-greet.

Tappytoon is making its first appearance at Anime NYC in seven years, and it’s bringing a major merch experience. From August 21–24, attendees at the Javits Center can visit Booth #1330 for the “Club JEM from Tappytoon” pop-up shop, offering exclusive goods from some of the platform’s most popular Boys’ Love (BL) and romance-fantasy series.

Fans can browse dozens of newly designed Club JEM Edition items based on titles like King’s Maker, Wet Sand, and The Broken Ring: This Marriage Will Fail Anyway. The limited-edition lineup, produced in collaboration with the comics’ creators, includes apparel, collectibles, and keepsakes available only at the event. Attendees can also take part in giveaways, receive unreleased photocards, and score special gifts.

A major highlight will be the first-ever U.S. signing event for King’s Maker creators Kang Jiyoung and Haga, celebrating the upcoming English print release of the hit BL webtoon through Inklore in August 2025. The fantasy series follows hidden prince Wolfgang Goldenleonard’s rise to the throne of a corrupt empire, alongside his intense and layered relationship with the noble Shin Soohyuk. The story concluded in 2024 with King’s Maker: Triple Crown, wrapping up its saga of love, revenge, and political intrigue.

“As interest in webtoon merchandise and print editions continues to grow among U.S. fans, we’re excited to meet them once again at Anime NYC,” said Ernest Woo, Chief Strategy Officer at Contents First. “Expanding our webtoon IP from digital platforms to physical products allows for a more immersive and globally connected fan experience.”

Club JEM, launched in November 2024, serves as Tappytoon’s official merch platform, delivering premium goods tied to hit webtoons and timed to global content releases.
